People in Need (PIN) is a non governmental, nonprofit making, international organization with headquarters in Prague, Czech Republic. Over the past 25 years, PIN has managed projects in 55 countries, providing relief aid and development assistance, defending human rights and democratic freedom, implementing social integration programs, and increasing public awareness on global development issues. PIN currently provides assistance in 15 countries with over 700 staff worldwide.
In Turkey, PIN supports 3 Temporary Education Centres (TEC) through the provision of student and teacher kits, recreational kits and activities, teacher professional development opportunities, school operational costs, recreational activities and community events. Starting from March 2016, PIN will organize extracurricular activities for students attending the TECs. Such recreational and developmental activities aim to build students’ skills and confidence, and will contribute to the provision of Psychosocial Support (PSS) to students.
The project will be managed from PIN’s office in Antakya-Hatay Province with the support of PIN main office in Turkey located in Gaziantep. In addition, the project will be closely coordinated with the local Turkish Education Authorities.
The PSS field officer will be supervised by the Education Project Manager, based in the Antakya PIN office and will receive trainings on PIN PSS strategy and workplan by the Education Project Manager and an external PSS Consultant.

Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension
The main tasks of the PSS/Recreational Activities Facilitator is:
Draft age-specific recreational activities for TECs’ students;
Support the Education Project Manager in drafting a monthly schedule for PSS/recreational activities;
Conduct PSS/recreational activities with TEC students;
Supervise and ensure proper care and maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment;
Support TEC and PIN staff to keep up to date inventory of recreational equipment;
Identify and refer cases in need of specialized support to relevant bodies;
Maintain track of students’ attendance and submit attendance documents on a weekly basis;
Provide feedback and advice to improve the quality of PSS/Recreational activities;
Provide the Education Project Manager with weekly activity reports;
Provide support to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for the implementation of Community Events;
Supporting the Education Project Manager with ad hoc requests related to the education projects.
Suitable candidates for this position should possess:
Degree in education, pedagogy, social work, or equivalent;
Experience of working with children;
Experience of working for a humanitarian organization is desirable;
Strong critical analysis and problem solving skills;
Good computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook;
Good knowledge of English and/or Turkish – both written and verbal- is highly desirable.
Arabic language skills is essential.
