Founded in 1933, the international Rescue Committee is a prominent international organization working in relief, rehabilitation, protection, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression.
Working in coordination with the humanitarian community, the IRC currently addresses the needs of war-affected Syrians from several operational bases in the region. Our activities in the region focus primarily on the supply of vital medications and medical equipment, non-food items, water, sanitation and hygiene and child protection and form part of an over-arching humanitarian response in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and the region that seeks to assist refugees, IDPs and war-affected Syrians survive conflict and displacement.
This position will be based in Antakya Turkey and focus on supporting the implementation of programs to protect and empower women and girls and Syrian Refugees in southern Turkey. The Information Management Officer will be responsible for managing the information, data analysis, and reporting processes for program activities conducted by the Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) and Protection rule of Law ProL team. He/she will work directly with the Senior Information Management Officer to analyze data and generate findings; improve data quality; track progress of program activities and respond to information requests. He/She will also work closely with WPE Manager and Protection Manager to conduct regular analysis of the data collected from program teams in order to note trends and inform programming accordingly, as well as to share information via reports as needed. The Information Management Officer will also work closely with the IRC M&E teams to ensure quality data management and for specialized technical support.
Create a comprehensive project monitoring framework reflective of donor and IRC requirements, program needs, and able to accommodate diverse approaches to education service delivery (formal, non-formal, remedial, etc)
Ensure monitoring information is accurate, collections teams are accountable, and all data is verifiable
Oversee the development and improvement of databases and other applications for project data collection, cleaning, and analysis
Analyze project information databases for relevant trends and patterns (source data: site visits, attendance records, focus group discussions, information visits, surveys, etc)
Develop robust narrative and visual presentations of data analysis findings for internal and external audiences
Other duties as assigned by supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor to achieve the department’s information management objectives.
Strong background in data management and possible 1-3 years’ experience working in data management and analysis
Demonstrated English writing skills and experience, preferably with English language reports
Statistics, data analysis, data-driven computation are all relevant areas of study or experience
Able to think critically about data and information, triangulating and cross-checking data when needed and with minimal guidance
Self-directed and able to work and set priorities independently
Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office (in particular, Excel)
Excellent visual design sense regarding clear and accurate presentation of data.
Interest in the nonprofit, humanitarian sector
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to successfully work in a detail-oriented environment (with a sense of humor and patience) within and across departments/functions.
Management Experience a plus
Fluency in Arabic required; English and Turkish proficiency greatly preferred.
Syrian National with valid residency Required or Turkish National.
