Doctors Worldwide Turkey is an international humanitarian aid organization who serves medical relief to communities in need through the provision of sustainable medical relief and health based development programs over 40 countries worldwide.
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing ongoing programs and seeking funding, and other tasks as required. The Programs Manager directly supervises around 2 project managers, in the field and the İstanbul office and is required to travel regularly within Turkey (Diyarbakır, Batman, Şırnak, Hatay, Gaziantep and İzmir inside Syria whenever it’s possible)
Provide support and capacity building to Project Managers and staff both from İstanbul and on field visits
Conduct monitoring and evaluations for ongoing projects both in Syria and in Turkey
Revise reports from Project Managers and submit them to donors and supervisors in a timely manner.
Communicate with donors and other relevant stakeholders (ie, government officials, other NGOs, etc) about project implementation, problems, and questions; keep head of programs apprised of all relevant activities.
Represent DWWT in interagency meetings on relevant program areas.
Write and submit program reports as required.
Write and submit letters of interest, concept papers, and proposals to donors.
Remain flexible to perform other duties as required or requested by senior management team in order to meet the needs of the target beneficiaries or respond appropriately in the occurrence of an emergency.
Responsible in the development of program budgets, procurement and spending plans
Other tasks as necessary.
Proven experience in setting up and managing complex emergency health programs in a humanitarian context, and demonstrated high level skills in program and project coordination, management, mentoring and multi-tasking.
Bachelor’s degree in related area (Public Health Master’s degree preferred)
At least 5 years of emergency health and related working experiences in UN/INGOs/LNGOs.
Experience in managing comprehensive primary health care programs in disaster or conflict area with particular expertise in Primary Health Care, Maternal and Child Health, Reproductive Health, nutrition promotion, malaria control, Water-Sanitation and Hygiene promotion Refugee/IDP health.
Experience working in health clusters/coordinating with other health actors.
Advanced spoken and written English and Arabic skills. Turkish is desirable.
Effective computer skills, skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and in unstable environments
