Hayata Destek Derneği is a humanitarian agency founded with the principle objective of working with disaster-stricken communities to help them meet their basic needs and rights. As part of its mandate, STL assessed the situation linked to the humanitarian crisis in Syria and decided to become operational in the region, targeting Syrian refugee families living outside the camps in the border areas of Hatay, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakir, Batman, Adana, and Istanbul.
In line with its mandate STL currently has the following main activities:
Relief aid and refugee support: In response to the increasing number of refugees in Turkey, STL supports refugees living outside camps with a food security-based E-voucher programme, and provides psychosocial support and case management through its Community Centres;
Child Protection: STL has been working with at-risk children and raising awareness among the public in an effort to contribute to eliminating child labour;
Civil Society Disaster Platform: In collaboration with partners, STL has launched a platform that will bring together civil society actors in sharing information and capacity building related to emergency response and protection in Turkey.
Always seeking to improve the quality and impact of its work, STL is seeking a data management expert to support its registration, reporting and analysis tools. The consultancy is expected to enhance data management tools for Psychosocial Support (PSS), Skill-building (SB), Case management (CM) and Social Cohesion (SC) activities and develop the capacity of STL project staff in data reporting and analysis.

Assignment Period: 6 Days in September – October 2016 (26.09.2016-30.10.2016)
Work Place: Hatay
Overall Responsibilities: Enhance data management tools for Psychosocial Support (PSS), Skill-building (SB), Case management (CM) and Social Cohesion (SC) activities and develop the capacity of STL project staff in data reporting and analysis.
Expert reports to the respective Community Centre (CC) Manager. Specific duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Evaluating the current CM, PSS, SB and SC data management needs
Fixing and updating the current Access database according to the needs identified
Testing the database and approval by the CC Manager
Training of staff who will do data entry – training on data entry and excel for reporting
Handover project staff responsible from data management
Workplan for the needed consultancy
Updated Access database
Excel analysis report for PSS, SB, SC and CM
University degree in a relevant field
Experience of working with affected populations, especially refugees
Previous experience in developing data management tools, delivering trainings, coaching and mentoring
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in politicized and multi-cultural settings with a wide variety of stakeholders
Ability to analyze information, document clearly, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
Excellent interpersonal, communication and representation skills
Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner, and to use innovative forms of communication
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
