Project Officer: Skills Building,
and Case Management
Support to Life (STL) is an independent humanitarian agency working in the field of disaster risk reduction, disaster preparedness, and emergency response in Turkey and the surrounding region. With an emphasis on community participation, STL works at a grassroots level to build local capacity, mitigate the risks and impact of disasters, and support those in need in meeting their basic needs and rights.
In line with its mandate STL currently has the following main activities:
Refugee Support Program: in response to the increasing number of refugees in Turkey, STL is supporting refugees living outside camps in the Turkish border area through a food security programme providing psychosocial support through the establishment of Community Centres;
Çocuk Koruma Programı: STL has been working with at-risk children, sensitising farmers and raising awareness among the public in an effort to contribute to eliminating child labour;
Civil Society Disaster Platform: in collaboration with partners, STL has launched a platform that will bring together civil society actors in sharing information and coordinating projects related to disaster management in Turkey.
STL is looking for Project Officer to work in the Community Centre in Hatay. The working language in the Community Centre is English.

Job Purpose: The Case Management Project Officer is responsible for giving leadership and direction to the Case Management, providing support to the Centre Manager in relation to budget monitoring and implementation of case management activities. The incumbent is expected to work with minimum supervision, plan and monitor case management budget
Main duties and responsibilities
Give regular supervision to the Case Management Team and promote a culture of reflective practice and continous improvement;
Give guidance and mentoring to case workers for complex cases, accompany case workers to house visits only if necessary
Supervise the field workers responsible for outreach and facilitate their work with relevant actors and networks in the region
Ensure that cases are filed appropriately with respect to confidentiality of information;
Ensure that the beneficiary records are entered into the database in a timely manner and information is updated regularly;
Keep service mapping updated with frequent contact with stakeholders;
Ensure special needs fund in-kind assistance is delivered to beneficiaries by communicating and following up with the logistics department;
Assist Community Center Manager in liason with community leaders, muhtars, other NGOs in the region;
Manage the records, files, folders, and supportive documents of centre activities,
Monitor all aspects of the case management budget;
University education and training in a relevant field (law, psychology, social sciences, political science, international relations or sociology)
Minimum 3 years successful experience with field work and project management, preferably in the field of humanitarian aid;
Sound and demonstrable knowledge of and skills in communication, strategic planning, and policy development
Excellent command of English (Knowledge of Arabic is a distinctive advantage)
Excellent analytical, reporting/communication and interpersonal skills,
Culture, religion, race, nationality, age and gender aware/sensitive,
Good understanding of key principles of NGOs and social support organisations including accountability, impartiality, neutrality, independence, cooperation, and intercultural understanding,
Residing near to Hatay is preferable,
