Support to Life is an independent humanitarian agency working in the field of disaster risk reduction, disaster preparedness, and emergency response in Turkey and the surrounding region. With an emphasis on community participation, STL works at a grassroots level to build local capacity, mitigate the risks and impact of disasters, and support those in need in meeting their basic needs and rights.
In line with its mandate STL currently has the following main activities:
Relief aid and protection for Syrian refugees: in response to the increasing number of refugees in Turkey, STL is supporting refugees living outside camps in the Turkish border area through a food security programme providing psychosocial support through the establishment of Community Centres;
Child labour in seasonal agricultural work: STL has been working with at-risk children, sensitising farmers and raising awareness among the public in an effort to contribute to eliminating child labour;
Civil Society Disaster Platform: in collaboration with partners, STL has launched a platform that will bring together civil society actors in sharing information and coordinating projects related to disaster management in Turkey.

General Areas of Responsibility: To conduct needs assessment analyses in line with the project plans, to define those in need, to carry out food security related activities including distribution, evaluation and monitoring, data management and reporting
To act as the primary connection between the Support to Life Association and the persons in need
Main duties and responsibilities
Needs assessment analysis: Working in collaboration with the food security team, to establish relationships with refugees coming from Syria, and to determine those in need, within the framework of the criteria of the STL,
To distribute e-cards at regular intervals,
To carry out regular observations in related markets,
To inform and support those in need, about the food security programme,
To support the monitoring and evaluation processes of the food safety project,
To prepare project documents in a systematic and proper manner,
To organize focus group activities and when required, to collect other relevant information,
To create and maintain in an up-to-date manner, a database of those in need of assistance, and to perform data entry to this database,
To create awareness regarding safety-related matters during project activities and to notify the project manager about safety-related issues,
To execute all safety protocols that are required within the scope of the daily project management process.
Qualification and Expertise
Preferably, high school graduate,
Knowledge of Arabic and English,
Preferably, with knowledge of Turkish,
Command of MS Office programs,
Analytical and solution oriented thinking,
Ability to successfully plan and follow-up tasks,
Strong communication skills and ability to work with people with different cultural backgrounds,
Ability to adapt to the association’s principles and corporate culture, capability to represent the association.
