The Education Technical Coordinator, managed by the Education Programme Manager, will serve as the focal point for the Education programme with partners and relevant stakeholders. In this role, the Education Technical Coordinator will be responsible for being the liaison between the Antakya office and partners. This will include serving technical input on all youth programming in education, lifeskills, TVET programme design, and taking on the responsibilities of working with other sectors and support teams, partners, community members and other stakeholders. It will also include facilitating the implementation of the education programmes for the education team with the supervision of the Education Programme Manager. S/he will also be responsible technically support the implementation of all education activities through partners, for facilitating data collection, partner capacity building and monitoring process to contribute to quality, efficiency, and effectiveness monitoring
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Support the Education Programme Manager overseeing implementation of Education project activities ensuring that services are delivered on time and in compliance with donor regulations
Liaise with the other education team members and partners to ensure that there is a harmonized and standardized approach the technical requirements for implementation
Work with the partners and the education team to ensure the Education programme is implemented in ways responsive to communities, partners and children in line with SC’s principles, values and strategic plan and compliant with SC’s procedures
With supervision of the Education Programme Manager, MEAL and inputs from the partners and other relevant sectors, facilitate the development of monthly work plans in line with the detailed implementation plans including distribution schedules of programme inputs in line with programme logistics/supply chain capacity
In coordination with the Education Programme Manager and other Technical Coordinators, work with the Education team partners to develop weekly work-plans and follow up with team members regularly to ensure that activities are on track
Support MEAL Managers and Knowledge Management Officer in monitoring program progress against programmatic targets, and advise the Education Programme Manager in making adjustments to programme design as necessary
Needs Analysis and Program Design:
Support the implementation of needs and capacity assessments, and baselines and evaluations with a specific focus on the roll out of the efforts themselves. Provide inputs to the design as requested.
Be an active contributor to program design, proposal review, and strategy development.
With the supervision of the Education Programme Manager :
Lead monitoring visits to the partners locations
Act as a focal point for communication with Partners on the at the implementation level
Manage in-kind distribution to partners.
Lead/ facilitate planning for trainings for partners staff and/or volunteers
Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability and Quality
With support from the MEAL and Knowledge Management Officer
Conduct regular meetings with partners and ensure the education team to provide technical guidance according to requirements and plans then report back with the findings to the Education Programme Manager
Actively monitor Education programme activities at partner level, ensuring quality of Save the Children’s programme, reporting and flagging concerns to Education Programme Manager
Work with other MEAL, Technical Coordinators and Knowledge Management Officer to ensure appropriate, timely and accurate data collection against agreed indicators to enable both internal and external reporting
Supervised by the Education Programme Manager, Work with the MEAL team, and Partners to identify and incorporate project suitable accountability mechanisms
Lead discussions with communities and beneficiaries on programme design and project review, as agreed with Education Programme Manager and partners
Ensure that communities are regularly involved in all phases of the programming.
