Aim , The Database Assistant will have responsibility for assisting in ensuring continuous and up-to-date data collection, storage and analysis. This involves developing a friendly data program and training partners’ and DRC staff on its use.
Who are we?

DRC has been operating in Turkey since early 2013, working with by and large with non-camp Syrian refugees and affected host communities. The overall objective for DRC in Turkey is the protection and promotion of durable solutions to displacement affected populations on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights with more immediate objectives focusing both on the immediate subsistence needs, protection and self-reliance support as well as a more long term focus on capacity building. In Turkey, DRC works partially through partners, also providing intensive capacity building support, while also conducting direct implementation.
About the Job
DRC is looking for a Database Assistant for its program in Turkey. In close cooperation with the Database Officer, the Database Assistant is responsible for
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collate and maintain accurate beneficairy data tracking those assessed and distributed.
Develop and manage database of confidential information, inputting data related to special needs requests and responses.
Monitor data to ensure no duplication of assistance.
Assisting in ensuring data consistency and integrity across DRC Turkey projects and sites.
Assist partners in developing relevant software reflecting achievement and beneficiary information.
Coordinate closely with project staff across DRC Turkey project sites to ensure their data collection and management needs are met.
Produce statistical analysis and reports on project data on request.
Carry out research and information gathering on topics of relevance to projects, as needed.
Ensure there is provision for data security (including strict data handling and confidentiality protocols), weekly backup and recovery control (all data is retrievable in an emergency).
Assist with project field monitoring, as required.
Attend relevant coordination meetings, as requested.
Provide IT assistance, and hardware and software troubleshooting to staff.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications:
Relevant university degree
At least 2 years of experience in IT and database management systems (MySQL, MS ACCESS and MSSQL)
Strong background/experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis,
Demonstrated skills in PC troubleshooting, software and hardware support, networking, data backup,
creating data entry forms and generating database reports
NGO experience preferred,
Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills
Excellent communication skills in English and Turkish or Arabic.
Willingness to travel throughout Turkey.
Willingness to work long hours and meet strict deadlines, as needed.
You have to hold a Turkish citizenship or residency or valid passport with valid visa (the residency application will be required at the moment of the recruitment)

What we offer:
DRC Turkey offers an employment contract of 9 months with the possibility of extension (depending on funding). The position will be based in Hatay-Antakya with regular travel to other DRC Turkey offices in the country as directed. We offer a fair compensation package depending on your qualification and experiences as well as additional allowances such as relocation allowance and living allowances, if applicable. DRC Turkey is income tax exempted.
